Helping Small Associations Maintain Pool Furniture on a Limited Budget

Many smaller swim clubs, neighborhood pools, and apartment communities operate on very tight budgets. When pool furniture starts wearing out, replacing everything at once simply is not an option.

Because of this, many associations end up piecing furniture together wherever they can find it. Some purchase inexpensive chairs from Facebook Marketplace. Others buy worn furniture from another community that has recently upgraded its pool area. In some cases, maintenance teams or volunteers even attempt repairs themselves.

While these efforts are understandable, they can lead to wasted time, furniture that does not last long, or even safety concerns if repairs are not done properly.

A Practical Option for Lower-Budget Communities

When commercial clients purchase new pool furniture from us, we often offer to haul away their older furniture. Instead of sending those pieces straight to scrap, we store the frames and inspect them carefully.

Frames that are still structurally sound are stripped down and rebuilt. We manufacture new slings or vinyl straps, install new hardware when needed, and refresh the chairs so they are safe and ready to be used again.

This allows us to take a quality frame and turn it into a refreshed piece of furniture that can serve another community for many more years.

A Real Example From Sandston Pool

A good example of this was Sandston Pool | Sandston-Hill Bldg in Sandston, Virginia.

They reached out to us because their pool furniture was in rough condition, and much of it honestly needed to be replaced. Unfortunately, the pool did not have the budget to purchase an entirely new set.

At the time, they were actually considering buying used furniture from another community pool that had recently replaced their furniture with a brand new set. That furniture was being sold for about the same price it would cost to repair chairs using our repurposed frames, and it still needed new straps as well.

Instead, we worked with Sandston Pool to rebuild chairs using frames from our overflow inventory that had come from other properties. We inspected the frames to make sure they were structurally sound, restrapped the chairs with new vinyl straps, installed new plastic feet, and cleaned up the frames.

The result was safe, refreshed pool furniture that should last for many years. We also warrantied the work, giving them all additional peace of mind that the chairs were safe and built to last.

Helping Smaller Communities Find Safe Solutions

Smaller associations often have to get creative when it comes to maintaining their pool areas. Having access to rebuilt furniture made from structurally sound frames can provide a safe and practical option for communities working with limited resources.

Repurposing and restoring furniture allows communities to maintain comfortable seating for their members while staying within their budget.

If you know of a swim club, apartment community, or neighborhood association that is working with a tight budget and in need of safe, operational pool furniture, we would truly appreciate the opportunity to help them just like we did for Sandston Pool. Communities that are planning to dispose of their older pool furniture can also contact us, as structurally sound frames can often be repurposed and given a second life instead of being thrown away.
